Dr. Jennifer Duan’s academic journey began at the University of Kansas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. Driven by a passion for eye care, she pursued and received her Doctor of Optometry degree with highest honors from the prestigious State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City.
Dr. Duan’s dedication to her profession is evident in her rigorous residency program at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, where she specialized in primary care and ocular disease. Her expertise includes ocular pathology management of complex conditions such as glaucoma, dry eyes, corneal and retinal disorders. Moreover, her proficiency extends to myopia management, specialty contact lens fittings, binocular vision evaluation, and emergency eye care.
Dr. Duan is a regular presenter at national optometric meetings, sharing her knowledge and insights with peers. Years of service in multidisciplinary group practices across diverse locations, including New York City, Northern Virginia, and Baltimore County, enrich her professional background.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and American Optometric Association member, Dr. Duan exemplifies the highest standards of professionalism and expertise.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Duan is a valued communicator in a multicultural society. She currently resides in Howard County with her husband and two children. Away from patient care, Dr. Duan enjoys hiking, attending Howard county music performances and baseball games.
